repowiseRepowise is released under AGPL-3.0. You can run it, modify it and build on it at no cost, including inside a company. The obligation AGPL adds is that if you modify Repowise and offer it to others over a network, you publish those modifications under the same licence.
The hosted service at repowise.dev runs the same code under a managed-service exemption, so using it carries no AGPL obligation for you.
Every language and every intelligence layer ships in the AGPL distribution. Nothing about the analysis is reserved for paying customers.
When you need a commercial licence
You need one if AGPL terms conflict with what you want to do, most commonly:
- Modifying Repowise and shipping it inside a closed-source product
- Embedding it in internal tooling you cannot open-source
- Redistributing it as part of something you sell
